Ladylike.

By: Jen Shoop

Though I like a trend as much as the next gal, I often find myself returning and drawn to ladylike looks with pearls, bows, and smart tailoring. I thought I’d share a few of my favorite finds of late:

PEARL TRIMMED CARDIGAN (THANKS TO BORN ON FIFTH FOR THE TIP!)

THIS LACE DRESS (ON SALE)

THIS BOW TANK

ELEGANT BLACK DRESS (LOOK FOR LESS WITH THIS)

POLKA DOT SHIRTDRESS

MY GO-TO PEARL HEADBAND

PRETTY SCARF

TWEED COAT

PEARL CLUTCH

VELVET BOW BLOUSE

HIGH-WAIST TROUSERS

THIS MINI BOW BAG

GLEN PLAID TROUSERS (OR THIS IN-A-SIMILAR-VEIN PLAID BLAZER)

THIS GOWN FOR BLACK TIE

THIS BOW-SHOULDERED MIDNIGHT BLUE COCKTAIL DRESS

P.S. Christmas gifts for babies, the incongruous emotions of motherhood, and great gifts for men.

P.P.S. Writing, fishing, and The Roaring Fork.

  1. In practice, I err more on the side of streetwear/androgynous staples (for example, today I’m wearing a Breton stripe shirt with slouchy Nili Lotan chinos and coordinating sneaks), but I endeavor to dress more ladylike on a more regular basis! I had actually had my eye on that black Shoshanna dress with pearl buttons. Love! I’d wear it with my black knot headband and red lipstick. 🙂

Also, why is Cecilie Bahnsen so amazing?! I have a saved search on The RealReal (let’s be honest, the only way I’ll be able to afford one of her pieces) but it has been very quiet to date … I will keep my eyes peeled!

    xx
